Course Description: This intense three-day examination preparation workshop is designed to prepare students for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) examination. The seminars are carefully kept up to date with the framework of knowledge outlined by the Project Management Institute’s PMBOK®. We offer a learning environment led by experienced and expertly trained instructors. Students use and identify test-taking tips and strategies, discuss review materials that will assist them to pass the PMP® exam along with numerous small group exercises to reinforce the material. The course includes sample tests throughout the course.
A combination of lecture, in-class discussion and exercises, and numerous practice tests contribute to a successful learning environment. Each participant will receive a comprehensive student guide complete with detailed examples and realistic practice tests.
Key Learning Objectives
- follow the process and requirements guidelines for applying for the PMP® Certification exam
- expect increased confidence about taking a timed exam
- anticipate the types of questions that appear on the exam and how to answer them
- identify the principles and processes described in the PMBOK® Guide
- cite the nine knowledge areas, their processes, the five process groups, and their relationships
- list the outputs from each of the above processes
- identify and describe the major tools and techniques described in the PMBOK® Guide
Describe the concepts in the additional performance domain, Professional and Social Responsibility
Audience: This course is intended for project managers and project team members who wish to pass the PMP® Certification exam.
Course Prerequisites:
- Before taking this course, students must fulfill the requirements for sitting for the PMP® exam:
- A bachelor’s degree and 4500 hours of project experience
- No degree and 7500 hours of project experience
- Complete 35 hours of Project Management training. This course provides 21 of those hours.
- Students should be prepared to take the exam within two months of taking the course.
- Students should have a copy of the PMI® PMBOK® Guide 4th Edition. Paper copies may be ordered directly from PMI at pmi.org or from a bookstore. Members of PMI have access to a free copy of the PMBOK® Guide online that may be printed. Students are advised to read the PMBOK® Guide prior to class and to bring it with them to class.
